Experience Shinn's Rococo Revival work at Planting Fields, where the Coe family commissioned the artist to create decorative objects and murals specifically for their home. Learn the story behind the decorative panels in Mai Coe's Dressing Room, including their journey back to Planting Fields, and enjoy an exclusive viewing of the Tea House, where guests will learn about the recent restoration of the building and interior elements. Led by members of the Planting Fields Foundation Collections team, this special First Fridays experience offers a behind-the-scenes look at some of the most treasured works of art and historic spaces at Planting Fields, what it takes to care for and preserve them, and the stories that bring them to life! More about First Fridays This monthly series dives into the various themes that make up Planting Fields, with exclusive behind-the-scenes walking tours and workshops led by Planting Fields Foundation and New York State Parks staff, who are experts in their respective fields. From wellness and Olmsted landscape features to the life-stories of Coe family members and their unchallenged spectacular horticultural, historic and personal collections, participants of this series will see this site with a new lens. Each month a new theme is explored with at least one staff expert serving as your guide. This series will take place on the first Friday of each month.
