Reading Wednesday in the Gardens Join us every Wednesday for a sweet and engaging Story Time perfect for little nature lovers! Bring your toddler to enjoy seasonal, nature-themed books, an interactive song to get everyone moving, and on select weeks, a fun craft activity after the story. It’s a wonderful mid-week outing filled with learning, imagination, and a little creativity! Every Wednesday during the school year, 10am Visitor Center Lobby, Crystal Bridge Conservatory Free (Donations Accepted) Best for Ages 2–5 SUMMER SCHEDULE: July week 1- Finding Wild by Megan Wagner Lloyd: A beautifully illustrated book encouraging kids to find "wild" nature and wildlife Craft: Summer wreath July week 2- Up in the Garden and Down in the Dirt by Kate Messner: Details the busy life of a summer garden, both the plants growing up and the insects and dirt working underneath Craft: Fuzzy Flower or Bug Ornament July week 3- Over and Under the Pond by Kate Messner: Explores the bustling hidden world of animals living above and below the water's surface during the peak of summer Craft: sticker water scene craft July week 4- Jack's Garden by Henry Cole: Follows the step-by-step planting, growing, and blooming of a beautiful summer garden. Craft: Leaf Art September week 3- Goodbye Summer, Hello Autumn by Kenard Pak: A gentle, lyrical story where a young girl and a boy walk through nature and observe the seasonal changes occurring as autumn arrives. Craft: Fall Bookmarks September week 4- Red Leaf, Yellow Leaf by Lois Ehlert: Uses vibrant collage illustrations and items from nature to introduce the life cycle of a tree.
