Hebrew 101

When & where

About this event

Have you ever felt like there was more underneath the Bible? Dreamed about learning Hebrew but felt intimidated? This is the class for you. Hebrew 101 is a live, interactive, seven-week beginner course that invites you into the language of the Old Testament. No language background necessary. In a clear, fun, step-by-step format, you'll learn the alphabet, vowel system, and foundational vocabulary so you can begin reading real Hebrew words from Scripture. Expect biblical and cultural insights from Israel woven throughout, taught by Anna Beth Havenar, who holds an M.A. in Jewish Studies and has spent nearly a decade leading educational experiences in the region. By the end of the course, you'll recognize all 22 Hebrew letters, learn 100+ words, practice reading short Scripture verses, and learn traditional blessings that Jesus himself knew. In other words: if you put in a little time, you'll be reading Hebrew!
