About this event
This aerial silks class builds on introductory fabric skills and is designed for students with prior aerial experience. Participants should be familiar with basic climbs, locks, supported inversions, and footlocks, and will develop these skills through progressive training over the course of the year. Students will advance to single and double footlocks, unsupported inversions, hand supports, simple compound skills, beginning knee hook skills, and unlocked skills as they build strength, technique, and confidence. Some aerial experience, completion of Silks 1, or teacher approval is required. Suggested ages are 8–12 (placement may vary based on experience). This class may be repeated as needed to continue skill development. Throughout the year, students will prepare for a spring aerial silks showcase, with opportunities to perform in group choreography as well as create and present original solo or duet routines.
