Alla Boara Scossa Quartet

Alla Boara's Scossa Quartet takes the songs of Italy's regional folk traditions somewhere new -- electric and groove-driven. Drawn from the same Collective of musicians behind Alla Boara, Scossa is led by percussionist and composer Anthony Taddeo, whose reimaginings of pre-industrial Italian songs run through both ensembles. Vocalist Raquel Román-Rodriguez brings a genre-fluid voice honed across opera, musical theater, and contemporary music; guitarist John Karkosiak, a staple of Cleveland's jazz scene and faculty member at Cleveland State University, drives the group's improvisational edge; and bassist Taylor Arbogast, a versatile freelance and studio musician, locks down the groove.
