Dying in Christ

Christians are a resurrection people. Talking about death is difficult. Planning for it can be even harder. Yet our faith invites us to face death not with fear, but with hope in the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Join Canon Bradley Varnell and Claire Soard, Minister for Pastoral Care, for an afternoon workshop that offers a faithful, practical, and compassionate approach to preparing for the end of life. Together, we'll explore what the Christian tradition teaches about death, the Church's liturgical practices surrounding burial, and the important practical decisions involved in planning a funeral. Whether you're planning for yourself or hoping to ease the burden on loved ones in the future, this workshop will provide both spiritual encouragement and practical guidance. Participants will leave with a deeper understanding of the Church's teaching and, if they choose, a completed funeral planning guide. A light lunch will be provided.
