Laura Booth, age 95, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by herfamily on February 21, 2026.Laura was born on September 13, 1930, in Clarksburg, WV to Dr. CharlesFrederick Fisher and Laura Jane Case Fisher. She graduated from Pine ManorCollege, Chestnut Hill, MA and from Chatham College, Pittsburgh, PA. Shebegan her career as an elementary school teacher in the Gainesville, FL publicschool system.Laura married Harold Udell Booth on February 14, 1953. She was a chartermember of Trinity United Methodist Church where she joined the Fisherman'sClass and was active in Alert. Laura also volunteered at the Ronald McDonaldHouse, WSCS Charity Circle, and was a member of the Gainesville Women'sClub.Laura was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Laura Jane Fisher,her husband Harold Udell Booth, and her sister Phyllis Ann Dorflinger. She issurvived by her children Phyllis Summerlin, Kim Booth, Todd Booth (Susan),grandchildren Jenna Summerlin Hunnicutt (Jonathan), Blake Summerlin(Julie), Wesley H. Booth (Lauren), and great-grandchildren Madison and EmilyHunnicutt. In lieu of flowers, the family invites contributions to the TrinityMemorial Garden Benefactor Fund or the charity of your choice. The familywould like to express sincere appreciation to Haven Hospice for the kindnessshown to Laura by their exceptional caregivers.There will be a celebration of her life in the Chapel of Trinity United MethodistChurch, 4000 NW 53rd Ave, Gainesville at 3PM on Saturday, March 21st.But since it falls unto my lot, that I should go and you should notI'll gently rise and softly call, Goodbye and joy be with you all.
